Walk and Talk Therapy
If the idea of sitting in a traditional therapy office feels uncomfortable, intimidating, or just not you, walk and talk therapy might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.
Instead of meeting in an office or over a screen, we meet outdoors and walk side-by-side. The movement and open space can make conversations feel more natural, less pressured, and easier to open up. Many people find that walking helps their thoughts flow more freely and reduces the awkwardness that sometimes comes with sitting face-to-face.
What It’s Like
You set the pace; both literally and emotionally. Whether we’re strolling slowly or moving at a brisk walk, the session is tailored to your comfort level. We can pause, sit, or change direction as needed. You don’t need to be “in shape” for this type of therapy; it’s about movement, not mileage.
Why It Works
-
Eases Anxiety & Tension – Moving your body while talking can naturally lower stress and help regulate your nervous system.
-
Encourages Openness – Without the direct eye contact of a traditional office, it’s often easier to share difficult thoughts and feelings.
-
Boosts Mood & Energy – The fresh air, natural light, and physical activity can improve your mood before we even start talking.
-
Blends Mind & Body Wellness – It’s a gentle reminder that your emotional and physical health are deeply connected.
Who It’s For
Walk and talk therapy can be a great fit if you:
-
Feel restless or stuck sitting in one place
-
Want a less intimidating therapy environment
-
Struggle with anxiety, stress, or overthinking
-
Prefer a more active and engaging way to process emotions
This option is available for individual therapy (kids, teens, and adults), couples therapy, and family sessions, depending on comfort and mobility levels.
What to Expect
Sessions are held in safe, public outdoor spaces in the local area. We’ll decide together on the best location based on privacy, accessibility, and your comfort level. I’ll handle the planning so you can simply show up, breathe, and begin.
You don’t have to choose between therapy and movement. Here, you get both.
