About The Town Therapist
The Practice
The name The Town Therapist comes from my love for Gilmore Girls and the warm, close-knit community vibe of Stars Hollow. I wanted to bring that same sense of connection and comfort to my therapy practice. I’m dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive space for every client. I offer sessions virtually or through walk-and-talks, whichever feels best for you. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you navigate life’s challenges with practical, evidence-based tools.
About Me
I’m Kristina Huntington-Miller, a licensed social worker passionate about working with kids, teens, and young adults—especially teens and young adults who often face unique challenges during such an important time of their lives. That said, I welcome individuals of all ages and believe everyone deserves support tailored to their needs. I take a trauma-informed and DBT-informed approach, providing compassionate and evidence-based care designed to meet you where you are.
I’m also a mom, so I understand firsthand how life can be a mix of chaos and joy, and how important it is to have someone in your corner.
When I’m not working, I’m often cheering on my kids at their activities, soaking in cozy moments, meaningful conversations, and the simple joys that make life feel grounded and connected. These are the values I carry with me into every session, creating a space where you can feel truly supported and understood.
Education & Experience
I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Eastern Michigan University and my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Michigan. I’m licensed as an LMSW in Michigan and have worked in various settings supporting individuals and families through therapy and counseling. I’m committed to ongoing learning and bringing the latest, evidence-based approaches into my practice to provide the best care possible.
